UK to USA and USA to UK

Importing firearms from the UK to the USA involves several steps. You need an approved import permit (Form 6 Part 1) and the firearm must be sent to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer in the USA. The dealer will handle the necessary background checks and transfer the firearm to you. UK regulations also require an export license for firearms leaving the country.

Conversely, exporting firearms from the USA to the UK requires adherence to UK import laws. This includes securing an import license and ensuring that the recipient is a Registered Firearms Dealer (RFD) or holds the appropriate firearm certificate.

UK to EU and EU to UK

For transactions between the UK and EU, both parties must comply with their respective country’s laws. In the UK, an export license is necessary, and the recipient in the EU must have the appropriate authorization to receive the firearm. Similarly, importing firearms from the EU to the UK requires an import license and must be received by a Registered Firearms Dealer or a licensed individual.

USA to EU and EU to USA

Shipping firearms from the USA to the EU involves obtaining an export license from the US Department of State and ensuring the recipient in the EU has the necessary import permissions. The ITAR regulations allow temporary export of certain firearms without a license if specific conditions are met, such as the firearms being for personal use and returning to the USA.

Importing firearms from the EU to the USA requires an import permit, and the firearms must be transferred to an FFL dealer for the necessary background checks before the firearm is transferred to the new owner.
